Toyota Motor Philippines Corp. (TMPC) has partnered with Grab for a program covering car replacement and easy vehicle ownership for drivers of the ride-hailing service.

TMPC said in a statement yesterday the partnership would involve offering car replacement and ownership package for Grab drivers.

In particular, TMPC would provide trade-in offers, as well as flexible and affordable financing deals through Toyota Financial Services Philippines to Grab drivers.

The financing deals include maintenance package for vehicles up to at least 80,000 kilometers, and special discounts on batteries, aircon cleaning and car detailing.

“Grab drivers will receive notifications thru their Grab apps for the start of this great offer very soon,” TMPC said.

The program forms part of the strategic collaboration between Japanese carmaker and TMPC’s parent firm Toyota Motor Corp. with Grab Inc. announced earlier.

Last June, Toyota Motor Corp. said it is investing $1 billion in Grab.

Through the collaboration, Toyota Motor Corp. and Grab seek to offer mobility solutions to customers in Southeast Asia.

TMPC is currently the top automotive brand in the country.

It accounts for a 42 percent share of the market.

As of end-September, TMPC sold 109,402 vehicles, down 17.6 percent from 132,721 units in the same period last year.

TMPC ended last year with 184,000 units, placing the country ninth in the world in terms of Toyota’s global sales.
