PIMS 2018 is the jumpstart the local auto industry needs

-

AS a whole, the Philippine automotive industry isn’t doing well. Citing factors such as the increase in new vehicle excise tax, rise in both inflation and fuel prices, and the devaluation of the peso, the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines, Inc. (CAMPI) says they’re bracing for either a flat or negative growth for 2018.

In order to spur excitement for the remainder of the year and perhaps jumpstart the excitement in the automotive industry once more, CAMPI is holding the 7th Philippine International Motor Show, which runs today until Sunday, October 28, at the World Trade Center Manila in Pasay City.

“We are happy to offer PIMS again this year. Our theme, ‘Future Mobility’ reflects our commitment to bring technologies and concepts that make our customers’ lives easier, safer, and more connected,” says CAMPI President Atty. Rommel Gutierrez.

Dubbed “the biggest and most innovative car show in the country,” PIMS gathers 17 brands presenting innovations that improve the way we use and interact with cars. The five-day show presents current trends and future possibilities in the local automotive scene.

The biennial show features the following brands: BAIC, BMW, Daewoo, Foton, Fuso, Honda, Isuzu, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Nissan, SsangYong, Suzuki, Tata, Toyota, and Volkswagen.

Not only will PIMS treat car enthusiasts and buyers to new model launches, test drives, and vehicle demonstrations, but it will also play host to car club meets, workshops, and even a special afterparts parts and accessories hall for those looking to spiff up their rides. It also welcomes everyone with fun activities for the kids, and treats and special performances throughout the week.

“WE ARE HAPPY TO OFFER PIMS AGAIN THIS YEAR. OUR THEME, ‘FUTURE MOBILITY’ REFLECTS OUR COMMITMENT TO BRING TECHNOLOGIES AND CONCEPTS THAT MAKE OUR CUSTOMERS’ LIVES EASIER, SAFER, AND MORE CONNECTED.”
