Isuzu presents the future of diesel vehicles at 7th PIMS
Isuzu Philippines Incorporated (IPC) is embracing the 7th Philippine International Motor Show’s (PIMS) theme ‘Future Mobility’ by presenting its pitch on the latest in diesel technology – in the form of their Blue Power Diesel Technology engines.
In the spotlight is their potent RZ4E Blue Power engine that embodies their vision to create smaller-displacement engines with high efficiency, that it churns out the amount of power expected from larger-displacement ones. And therefore leading their display will be vehicles that carry this type of engine – the Isuzu MU-X RZ4E LS and the Isuzu D-Max RZ4E LS. These are the examples of what IPC considers to be the future of urban SUV and pickup mobility.
For people who would like to familiarize themselves with the ride and drive of these vehicles, the MU-X RZ4E LS-A and base model MU-X RZ4E LS, alongside two units of the D-Max RZ4E, will be made available for test drives around the WTC vicinity.
Also expect to find in their display area the Isuzu MU-X Luxe and Isuzu D-Max 4x4. These two are powered by the 3.0-liter Blue Power diesel engine with turbo intercooler that many Isuzu enthusiasts rave about.
Furthermore, IPC will also showcase its sample, modernized public utility vehicles (PUVs), all assembled using the Isuzu QKR77 platform, with rear bodies designed by commissioned body builders.
To pick your brains, Isuzu will also be highlighting a concept vehicle which they call the ‘Isuzu VT02.’ It’s a lightweight truck that was conceptualized to maximize commercial vehicle loading efficiency, highly improve tightturning performance, and step up fuel efficiency.
But the surprise they have up their sleeve today is the public launch of their latest product: the Isuzu EXZ QL. This truck is equipped with a state-of-the-art 6WG1-TCG52 engine that churns out 420ps of power alongside 2,060Nm of torque.
The truck carries ergonomically designed air suspension seats and even has an air-conditioned double-deck sleeper cab that accommodates large storage compartments to make long journeys on the road easier for the driver. And betterrested drivers usually equate to better driving performance and consequently, better fuel efficiency and a safer drive.
And to complement the introduction of a new truck, Isuzu will also be demonstrating its Isuzu Vehicle Health Report system, which is a vehicle management tool that delivers ‘health reports’ of Isuzu commercial vehicles. The vehicles’ performance data can be gathered by installing a data recording module (DRM) on the vehicle that will later ping back information about the vehicle’s engine condition, its fuel consumption history, brake use history, and the like. This will give business owners better control over their fleet’s operating costs; and will likewise help train drivers to drive more safely and efficiently.
