INC holds outreach program in Manila; QC next

- Jose Rodel Clapano

The Iglesia ni Cristo (INC) yesterday conducted an outreach program dubbed Lingap sa Mamamayan in Manila. Volunteers distributed 100,000 bags of goodies to the residents of Tondo and Binondo, INC general auditor Glicerio Santos Jr. said.

Santos said they also conducted a medical and dental mission.

Lingap sa Mamamayan is the INC’s antipoverty initiative, which aims to help the poor.

The INC is set to hold a medical mission in Barangay Culiat, Quezon City on Oct. 31, coinciding with the birthday of INC executive minister Eduardo Manalo.

Santos said at least 5,000 baskets of goodies would be distributed in the Muslim community.

“These activities are being undertaken by the INC’s Felix Manalo Foundation in an effort to uplift the lives of the Filipinos both in the Philippines and abroad,” he said.

The foundation recently conducted outreach programs in New York and Connecticut in the US as well as Toronto and Winnipeg in Canada.

The INC also hosted outreach activities in Kiberia and Kawangware in Nairobi, Kenya last June.

Over 33,000 attendees were provided assistance in the African locations.

Santos said the foundation would continue to hold outreach programs in the country and abroad.

“It’s our way of giving back to the people,” he said. –
