Falcons halt Maroons, near F4

Blow-hot, blow-cold Adamson got its second wind and pulled through with an 80-72 victory over University of the Philippine­s to soar closer to the Final Four in the UAAP Season 81 men’s basketball Final Four last night at Filoil Flying V Center.

Sean Manganti, the man responsibl­e for the game-winner in the Falcons’ close call over the Maroons back in the first round, played the hero’s role once more and delivered the dagger trey with 1:14 left as Adamson recovered from a fourth-quarter meltdown to seal its eighth W in 10 starts.

Earlier, Marvin Lee put in a careerhigh 30 points spiked by eight treys and CJ Cansino turned in the first tripledoub­le (20-14-10) for a rookie since 2003 as Santo Tomas dumped UE, 79-68.
