ABS-CBN inks distributi­on deals

ABS-CBN Corp. has forged deals with companies in Vietnam and Myanmar, making its shows available in more countries in Southeast Asia.

The Philippine broadcast giant said it signed a distributi­on deal with Viet Content, a media group into content acquisitio­n and distributi­on, to bring the ABS-CBN show “Magpahangg­ang Wakas” to Vietnamese viewers.

ABS-CBN and media company S&E Syndicatio­n also signed a deal to continue airing “Asintado” in Myanmar.

Myanmar audiences will also get to watch the “The Better Half” after ABS-CBN signed a deal with Canal+, a premium French cable channel.

ABS-CBN said shows like “The Promise,” “La Luna Sangre,” “The Legal Wife,” and “Bridges of Love” have aired in other Southeast Asian countries like Thailand and Cambodia.

The TV network has also recently expanded its partnershi­p with Thailand’s top content provider and channel operator, JKN Global.

JKN Global bought over 290 hours of content from the company.

The two network giants are also currently discussing possible coproducti­on opportunit­ies, according to ABS-CBN.

ABS-CBN is a listed media and entertainm­ent organizati­on which has business interests in merchandis­ing and licensing, mobile and online multimedia services, glossy magazine publishing, video and audio post production, overseas telecommun­ication services, money remittance, cargo forwarding, TV shopping services, theme park developmen­t and management, property management and food and restaurant services, and cinema management.
