1st Pinoy animé gets good rating

Viewers nationwide warmly received the pilot telecast of the highly-anticipated first Filipino animé series Barangay 143 last Oct. 21 after it won its timeslot in the nationwide ratings and trended on social media.

According to AGB Nielsen NUTAM overnight data (individuals), Barangay 143 scored 4.4 percent in ratings compared to its rival program with 3.2 percent.

The show’s official hashtag #Brgy143AngSimula was also the second top trending topic on Twitter after netizens shared their positive feedback on the animé produced by Synergy88 Entertainment Media, Inc., August Media Holdings, TV Asahi and ASI Studios.

“Pilot episode pa lang grabe na. Paano pa yung mga susunod na episode. Tunay ngang marami pa tayong aabangan. Congrats @brgy143!” said @iamjayyemm.

“Ang galing! Nakaka-excite ang mga mangyayari. Ang ganda ng story. Ang galing ng pagkaka-dub. Excited na kami mapanood ang next episode,” added @ iris_Sarana.

“Sulit ang pinaghirapan! Kudos sa gawang Pinoy. Keep it up!” shared @ kookai44418145.

The pilot telecast introduced basketball superstar Bren Park and how his family met an accident on their way to watch his game. Viewers also got a glimpse of the life of Coach B and Vicky.

Barangay 143 airs Sundays at 10 a.m. on GMA.
