Teen nabbed for selling weed on Facebook

A teenager allegedly selling marijuana via social media platform Facebook was arrested in a sting in San Juan City on Friday.

Idyanale Anonuevo, 18, a resident of Pasig City, was caught in Barangay Addition Hills at around 5:30 p.m.

Chief Superintendent Bernabe Balba, Eastern Police District (EPD) director, said police officers collared Anonuevo after he sold dried marijuana leaves to a policeman posing as a drug buyer.

Prior to the sting, Anonuevo had been under surveillance after police received information he is a supplier of high-grade marijuana to other teenagers.

“They were able to monitor the transaction from an informant who used to be the suspect’s customer,” Balba said.

The teenager even posted a photograph and video on Facebook showing off tea bags of marijuana for sale and distribution.

Police seized four sachets of marijuana and P6,500 in cash from Anonuevo, who is facing charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

In Marikina City, a tricycle driver was arrested in another sting in Barangay Fortune on Friday at around 10:40 p.m.

Five sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu and P500 in cash were seized from Edgardo Llojo, 47.

Five more teenagers were among 17 drug suspects arrested in Quezon City in the past two days.

A 16-year-old girl and a 15-year-old boy were among four people caught in a sting in Barangay E. Rodriguez at around 12:05 a.m. yesterday, according to Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr., Quezon City Police District director.

Liza Benaso and Axhl Gevero, both 18, were caught along with the two minors selling shabu in a shanty.

Seized from their possession were an undetermined quantity of marijuana leaves and a cell phone.

Arvin Castro, 18, and Gerry Ivan dela Paz, 35, were arrested in separate stings in Barangay Don Manuel. An undetermined quantity of marijuana leaves were found in their possession.

Another drug bust in Barangay E. Rodriguez at around 2:15 a.m. led to the arrest of Rodolfo Pacifico, 38. Six sachets of shabu were confiscated from him.

In Barangay Don Manuel, policemen arrested Ralph Anthony Osio, 29, at around 2:30 a.m. in a sting. Two sachets of shabu were confiscated from him.

Drug surrenderer Michael Amigus, 43, was arrested in Barangay Socorro at around 2:20 a.m. A total of six sachets of shabu were confiscated from him.

In San Martin de Porres, seven sachets of shabu were seized from Janine Jaranilla, 38, at around 1:30 a.m.

In Pasig City, Joanna Agustin, 31, was arrested in a sting in Barangay Kalawaan at around 9 p.m. Friday.

Her name is on the police station’s drug watchlist, according to Balba.
