Global Art Philippines announces winners of 2018 national competition
SMX Aura in Taguig was filled with students of Global Art Philippines who competed at the recent 2018 Global Art National Competition, an annual contest among students of the Art School.
The artworks featured creative interpretations of the meaning of “celebration,” this year’s theme, expressed through drawing, painting, coloring and composing visual elements.
“This year’s competition is special for us because it is Global Art Philippines’ 10th anniversary. We celebrated with and showed our appreciation to our students, franchisees and art teachers who have been part of Global Art’s growth during the past decade,” said Yenny Saw, manager of Global Art & Creative Philippines.
Students from Ortigas, San Juan Del Monte, Makati, Serendra, Alabang, Binondo, Katipunan Ave, New Manila, Ycaza St. Manila, Fun Ranch-Pasig, Pampanga, Cebu, General Santos City and Davao competed in two main categories according to the medium or techniques used: Creative Drawing and Acrylic Painting.
For Creative Drawing, the winners were Category A (4-6 years old) - grand champion- Tomoki Isohata from Global Art Serendra; first runner-up - Samantha Cristobal from Global Art Ortigas; second runner-up - Leoni Natividad from Global Art Manila; Category B (7-9 years old)- grand champion- Albyn Santino Lucernas from Cebu; first runner-up - Zachary Isberto from Global Art Makatisecond runner-up: Janna Louise Ventanilla from Global Art Makati; Category C (10-12 years old) – grand champion – James Clark Amantillo from Global Art General Santos; first runner-up - Alcina Tan from Global Art Davao; second runner-up - JayC Ang from Global Art Ortigas; Catergory D (13 years old and above): grand champion- Julianne Chuah from Global Art Manila; first runner-up - Angeli Domini Lim from Global Art Davao and second runnerup - Marco Luis Gonzalez from Global Art Makati.
Meanwhile, the following were adjudged winners in Acrylic Painting: Category 1 (7-9 years old): grand champion- Maria Francesca Sunga from Global Art Pampanga; first runner-up - Julia Gabrielle San Juan from Global Art Makati; second runner-up - Aubrey Janel Lua from Global Art Del Monte; Category 2 (1012 years old): grand champion - Maria Lisette Sunga from Global Art Pampanga; first runner-up - Raissa Ysabelle Chua from Global Art Manila; second runner up - Gwyneth Garcia from Global Art Pampanga; Category 3 (13 years old and above): grand champion - Dominique Kiersten Lim from Global Art Makati; first runner-up - Angelica Faith Chu from Global Art Davao and second runner-up - Jaymie Alexandria Wong from Global Art Del Monte.
All winners are qualified to represent Global Art Philippines at the Global Art International Level Competition at Yangon, Myanmar on Dec. 2. They also received trophies and backpacks from Robbit Rabbit, one of the sponsors. The grand champions each received 2,000 Globbie Points, which they can redeem at their Global Art Centers.
