Mitsubishi Electric introduces new high-speed elevator lineup

-

Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, through local affiliate International Elevator & Equipment Incorporated (IEE), introduced the new NexWay-S Package R to the Philippine market, which is a line-up of high-speed elevators for high-rise buildings with a minimized machine room for more streamlined space design.

The new elevator series, an extension of the application range of the NexWay-S model, has speeds of 3.5 meters per second which is equivalent to 210m/minute, or 4.0m/sec which translates to 240m/min, and can travel up to 180 meters. The previous NexWay-S series has a speed of 3.0m/sec and can go up to 150m.

“Mitsubishi Electric concentrated its technologies to develop an elevator line that travels extra fast, extra far, and using the most compact devices to meet the growing demand from increasingly high residential and office buildings, with the added benefit of keeping machine rooms at bare minimum,” explained Ramoncito Ocampo, president of IEE.

The new elevator is built with the company’s leading edge electric system which is competitively at the forefront of Japan’s product innovation that allowed it to combine equally high levels of comfort, energy efficiency, and safety into its features. This eliminates the need for high-rise developers to order customized elevator models from Japan or South Korea for a lesser price.

To enhance riding comfort and greatly reduce lateral vibration, which is common in high-speed elevators, the new elevator cars are integrated with active roller guide technology and compensating sheave and rope system which were only used in the company’s South Korea and Japan models.

The lineup also has user-friendly operating panels with extravisible, square shaped buttons, and reduces long waits for passengers with an algorithm that assigns the best car after predicting near-future hall calls that could require long waits. Its latest line of aesthetic design now includes shiny vibration stainless steel finishes and redesigned LCD display to give wider range of design choices for customers.

“Our long-term commitment to developing energy-efficient elevators has created systems and functions that make intelligent use of power,” added Ocampo. “We were able to reduce power consumption and carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 70 percent through the years and we are continuing the work to lessen this even further.”

The NexWay-S Package R series of high-speed elevators for highrise buildings demonstrate the “quality in motion” vision of Mitsubishi Electric which is targeted to satisfy customers with high standards of comfort, efficiency, ecology, safety and “value for money” cost efficiency.

“This new product offering is testament to how IEE and Mitsubishi Electric strive to maintain its leading position as one of the primary providers of building equipment and services that responds to the ever changing market needs with relevant technology,” said Ocampo.
