Two-time champion Armed Forces tries to stretch its winning run to six games when it faces dangerous National Housing Authority (NHA) tomorrow kicking off the second round of elims in the seventh UNTV Cup at the Pasig Sports Center.

Coming off a five-game sweep of the Group A, the AFP Cavaliers are slightly favored in their 5 p.m. showdown with the NHA Builders who finished Group B at No. 2 with a 4-1 mark.

Equally exciting is the 3:30 p.m. showdown between streaking Philippine National Police and Agriculture – two teams capable of advancing to the finals of the annual event for public servants and organized by UNTV president and CEO Dr. Daniel Razon.

The PNP Responders settled for No. 2 in Group A elims with a 3-2 mark followed by defending champion Senate (also with a 3-2 mark) and PITC (2-3).

Clashing in the opening game are PITC and Judiciary, which also carries a 2-3 mark in the event offering P4 million to the chosen charity of the champion.

A lively shootout is expected in the AFP-NHA encounter as both teams are still fresh from rousing wins with the Cavaliers beating the Senate Defenders, 76-70, and the Builders scoring a massive 94-57 win over the Ombudsman Graft Busters.
