ESCADA UNVEILS FIRST COLLECTION BY NIALL SLOAN
Escada, the brand known for its powerful and fun dressing for the modern woman, launched a new collection by global design director Niall Sloan.
Sloan says: “The fall-winter 2018 collection is a celebration of Escada’s rich archives. It was a joy to reinterpret the brand’s heritage. The bold and entrepreneurial spirit of our founder Margaretha Ley has stayed with the business over the years and I am excited to be a part of evolving this for the future.”
Sharp tailoring is a key part of the Escada wardrobe-but always shaped in a feminine way, with softer shoulders, an easier silhouette and a twist in the detailing. Tailoring is feminized further by adding floral embroidery or by elongating the silhouette and adding colored accents.
Striking color combinations are explored through multi-tonal tweeds, checks and houndstooth fabrics. Bold florals in lightweight jacquard feel contemporary and fresh next to sharp colored tailoring with contrast piping detail.
Escada Sport delivers a more direct and youthful translation of the archives. The collection showcases Escada’s classic heritage themes, including the logo, animal print, hearts, tartan and gem detailing.
An archive quilted bomber is reimagined in black, orange and khaki, with colored gem buttons punctuating the quilting. These buttons find their way on to easy denim, denim-look shearling, tailoring and are translated into a modern polka dot print for soft dresses, blouses and scarves. The Escada logo is also highlighted across knitwear and a luxe shearling in bold color ways.
Complementing this carefree attitude is a combination of bright tartans and pops of color pleats on fluid satin. Brushed check outerwear, quilted leathers and sharp tailoring round out the offer, all elevated with the iconic Escada gold button.
