AIM confers highest alumni achievement award to auditing guru
The Federation of Asian Institute of Management Alumni Associations Inc. (FAIM) recently honored KPMG R.G. Manabat and Co. chairman emeritus Roberto Manabat with an AIM Alumni Achievement Award (Triple A), the most prestigious recognition to be awarded to AIM graduates.
As of 2018, only 138 alumni have been conferred this prestigious recognition out of more than 40,000 graduates. This award is given only to illustrious individuals who have achieved outstanding performances in their professional, developmental and entrepreneurial professions.
Previously, Manabat was also awarded the 2018 Outstanding Professional of the Year in the field of ac- countancy, recognizing his track record of over 40 years in the field where he demonstrated professional competence of the highest degree.
He was the chairman and chief executive officer of the firm for 11 years, an adviser for top conglomerates in the country and has had extensive experience on corporate governance, internal audit, financial reporting, risk management, among others.
He now heads the KPMG R.G. Manabat Foundation, KPMG RGM&Co.’s corporate social responsibility arm. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Institute of Corporate Directors, an adviser oncorporate governance and an independent director of leading companies in the Philippines.
