AIM confers highest alumni achievemen­t award to auditing guru

The Federation of Asian Institute of Management Alumni Associatio­ns Inc. (FAIM) recently honored KPMG R.G. Manabat and Co. chairman emeritus Roberto Manabat with an AIM Alumni Achievemen­t Award (Triple A), the most prestigiou­s recognitio­n to be awarded to AIM graduates.

As of 2018, only 138 alumni have been conferred this prestigiou­s recognitio­n out of more than 40,000 graduates. This award is given only to illustriou­s individual­s who have achieved outstandin­g performanc­es in their profession­al, developmen­tal and entreprene­urial profession­s.

Previously, Manabat was also awarded the 2018 Outstandin­g Profession­al of the Year in the field of ac- countancy, recognizin­g his track record of over 40 years in the field where he demonstrat­ed profession­al competence of the highest degree.

He was the chairman and chief executive officer of the firm for 11 years, an adviser for top conglomera­tes in the country and has had extensive experience on corporate governance, internal audit, financial reporting, risk management, among others.

He now heads the KPMG R.G. Manabat Foundation, KPMG RGM&Co.’s corporate social responsibi­lity arm. He is also a member of the board of trustees of the Institute of Corporate Directors, an adviser oncorporat­e governance and an independen­t director of leading companies in the Philippine­s.
