Two Filipino-Chinese were arrested in a drug bust that yielded around two kilos of shabu worth P13.6 million in Quezon City before dawn yesterday.

Patrick Bankee, 44, and Alexander Jun Wah Ting Lee, 40, both residents of Parañaque City, were apprehended by agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Barangay Talayan at around 2 a.m.

A PDEA officer who posed as a buyer said he managed to buy shabu for P5,000 from Bankee and Lee.

Police said they recovered assorted bank cards and four cell phones from the suspects.

The arrest of Bankee and Lee was the result of a weeklong surveillance, according to PDEA officials.

The suspects are being held at the PDEA headquarters in Quezon City on charges of violating Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

Seven other drug suspects were collared in separate stings in Quezon City.

Ruel Hernandez, 47; Domingeto Guerero, 56; Bonnie Llamis, 46; Mark Joseph Arranguez, 21, and Ammar Cosari, 21, were nabbed in Barangay Kaligayahan.

Quezon City Police District director Chief Superintendent Joselito Esquivel Jr. said they confiscated six sachets of shabu from the suspects.

John Christian Joaquin and Sherwin Espina, 30, were arrested for alleged drug possesion in Barangay Tatalon.
