- Louella Desiderio

The country’s official distributor of Hyundai passenger cars has partnered with A CJ O Shopping to conduct marketing activities for the all-new Reina subcompact sedan.

In a statement yesterday, Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI) said it has forged a partnership with A CJ O Shopping to market the all-new Reina.

A CJ O Shopping is a joint venture between ABS-CBN Corp. and CJ ENM Co. Ltd. from Korea, offering home TV and online shopping.

“Hyundai’s partnership with O Shopping ushers in a transformative new era of the car shopping lifestyle in the Philippine market, as it accords customers the convenience of two powerhouse retail channels, TV and online shopping, thereby shaping a more convenient and rewarding car shopping experience for Filipinos,” HARI president and chief executive officer Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo said.

She said the collaboration is part of HARI’s moves to explore a different approach in selling cars.

“We are a distributorship committed to delivering industry firsts, such as our five-year unlimited mileage warranty for all Hyundai passenger cars, our One Hyundai Club, the first-ever distributor-based motoring lifestyle rewards program in the country, the breakthrough Hyundai CRDi diesel engine, and now, marketing the all-new Reina through a trusted and world-class home TV shopping brand. This is the result of our constant efforts to understand our customers—their needs and wants—thus, providing us valuable insights into shaping our programs and initiatives around bettering their total experience of Hyundai in mobility and beyond,” she added.

Customers can now check the Hyundai Reina on the O Shopping website.

They can also catch it on TV when it is aired on ABS-CBN Channel 2, Skycable Channel 11 and ABS-CBN TV Plus Channel 8 starting March 15.

Last year, HARI sold a total of 35,401 units, down six percent from 37,678 units in 2017.

Despite a decline in vehicle sales last year due to weak demand following the imposition of higher tax on cars, HARI is optimistic of posting better performance this year.
