HortiKultura Filipina goes to BGC
The Philippine Horticultural Society Inc. (PHSI) is bringing the HortiKultura Show to Bonifacio Global City from Oct. 11 to 20. It wants to connect to more people as it pushes for its advocacies to the growing horticultural communities in the South.
PHSI is inviting everyone to visit and celebrate with them the practicality and functionality of container-grown plants, both ornamental and urban edibles. Learn from the skills of growers and sellers.
Professional growers to hobbyists will be bringing in their prized plants, which may be for sale. Some will be there to display the labor of years for their enjoyment, to the envy of others. Discover the people who love, nurture, live and breathe plants — and walk away with ideas on how to use plants in your life or how to make plants part of your lifestyle.
Horticultural fans say they love going back. “We love seeing the varying shades of green, the tropical and fragrant flowers.” Other reasons? “The seminars are very informative.” “I can buy new products that make my gardening life easier.” “The plants are an inspiration with their delightful combination of colors, textures and smells.” “I love plants and being at the Horti Show is like being in a happy place.”
PHSI’s dream is to grow a healthy world through the art and science of plants, gardens and landscapes; specifically to unify, harness support and centrally advocate for all garden related organizations — public, private and nonprofit.
They want to build something that benefits our communities, our economy and our environment by making urban agriculture or farming an integral component of neighborhood or local development, and rally government to support this at all levels: barangay, municipal, and regional up to national.
They also want to provide access to material necessary to practice urban agriculture; to offer opportunities for engaged, hands-on learning through gardening or even cooking classes in schools and communities. They offer educational and economic opportunities for urban agriculture to build communities. They connect members and support specialized groups.
The HortiKultura Filipina show will be held in Bonifacio Global City from Oct. 11 to 20.
