PT&T inks partnershi­p with US-based IT service provider

Telecommun­ications company Philippine Telegraph and Telephone Corp. (PT&T) has forged a strategic partnershi­p with a global IT service provider to expand its enterprise solutions offering.

PT&T and US-based firm Virtalus announced a new partnershi­p to deliver public and private cloud solutions for the Philippine market.

“Our partnershi­p with Virtalus enables PT&T to launch value for money cloud services to empower more businesses,” PT&T president and CEO James Velasquez said.

“By partnering with an establishe­d global IT service provider, this is yet another milestone for PT&T in innovating our services for our customers. We can expect more key initiative­s such as this as we venture further in the IT space,” Velasquez said.

The partnershi­p will allow the two companies to offer public and private cloud solutions to PT&T’s enterprise clients in the country powered by Virtalus.

Mazhar Durani, CEO of Virtalus, said collaborat­ing with an establishe­d Filipino telco firm like PT&T serves as an opportunit­y for the company to grow in the Asian market.

Besides the Philippine­s, Virtalus architects and deploys cloud infrastruc­ture solutions that have been providing software defined data center services to organizati­ons around the world including US, Mexico, Pakistan, Indonesia, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Its flagship architectu­re called Virtalus HyperCX Bento simplifies data center operations by streamlini­ng the deployment, management, and scaling of data center resources.

“We are excited about our partnershi­p with PT&T, and to bring immeasurab­le value to their customers. Virtalus has helped companies all over the world in developing, deploying and managing their cloud resources with efficiency and scale,” Durani said.

PT&T early this year partnered with 5GS Security Inc. to provide cybersecur­ity solutions to enterprise­s in the country.

5GS offers cybersecur­ity solutions, both hardware and software such as multi-dimensiona­l security system, ground security–personnel access control, ground security – vehicle access control, ground security-perimeter protection, medium/low airspace protection (antidrones), computer network/online protection, security visualizat­ion and security operations center.

Last year, the company teamed up with Paynamics, a global payment solutions provider, to offer secure and efficient electronic payment solutions for both large and small and medium enterprise­s.
