Sen. Bong: Sino ang may problema? Not me!

-

Sen. Bong Revilla (photo) refuses to dignify bashers who reacted to reports that GMA is bringing him back to host a TV show. Here is the full statement Bong sent to The STAR:

Tama si Sen. Bato, alam ko ang priority ko. I have and will always put my commitment to the Filipino people first.

Records will bear how I fulfilled my mandate in my previous terms, and the almost six months of my work in Senate now will speak for itself.

During my previous terms, I filed more than 600 bills and resolutions, of which 223 became laws. Today, I have a total of 160 bills and resolutions filed, some of which are now being heard by the different committees of the Senate. Being the Chairperson of two major Senate committees — Civil Service and Public Information, and designated Sub Committee Chairman of Social Welfare, I prioritized proposals that directly benefit sectors of our society. I am also the Chairman of the Energy Committee of the Commission on Appointments.

I also actively participate in Committee hearings and in Plenary Sessions. In fact, I am co-author of the two bills that recently passed third reading in the Senate — Postponement of Barangay/SK elections and National Day of Remembrance for Road Crash Victims/Survivor/Families. I also reported out to the Plenary two of my Committee’s reports that would benefit our more than 800,000 teachers.

I am first and foremost a legislator. I know my mandate.

Wala pong batas na nagbabawal sa pag aartista. Ito ay isang marangal na trabaho na bumuhay at bumubuhay sa pamilya ko.

Haters are going to hate, and bashers are going to bash. The truth is out there and it is their choice to side with lies and falsehood. Sino ang may problema? Not me.”
