SM tech-voc scholars graduate in Legazpi
LEGAZPI CITY – Another batch of SM Foundation technical-vocational (tech-voc) scholars completed training at the Don Bosco Agro-Mechanical Technology Center in Legazpi City recently.
The various Don Bosco Training Centers, located in different parts of the country are partners in SM Foundation’s tech-voc scholarship program.
SM Foundation institutionalized the tech-voc scholarship program to provide the youth the option of pursuing two-year technical-vocational courses.
The tech-voc scholars are enrolled in courses which are in demand for their immediate employment.
The SM tech-voc scholarship program supports over 4,100 scholars throughout the country. As scholars, they enjoy full tuition subsidy in any SM partner school, on-the job internship and referral to industry partners after graduation.
SM Foundation also ensures that the scholars are given holistic development programs, which include values formation and fun-filled activities.
The Don Bosco Agro-Mechanical Technology Center is an institution accredited by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority and offers Technical Vocational Education Training programs.
These TVET programs include Animal Production NC II, Electrical Installation and maintenance NCII, Farm Equipment Mechanic (Agro Mechanic), Horticulture NC II, Motorcycle/Small Engine Servicing NC II, RAC Servicing (Domestic) NC II, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCI and Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW) NCII.
