Filvets activities for November, December
The Filipino War Veterans Foundation (FILVETS), Inc. is full of charity activities for veterans and direct dependents during the last two months of 2019 such as free enrollment in tech-voc courses, distribution of PAGCOR Christmas gift packages, alumni homecoming of FILVETS scholars, meeting of Board of Trustees (BOT) and graduation of Batch 432019 scholars.
Free enrollment in technicalvocational courses is ongoing until end of December 2019 for next Batch 44-2020 scholars to study at FILVETS Skills Training Center (FSTC) located at Pamayanang Diego Silang, Bgy. Ususan, C-5 Road, Taguig City. Courses offered are Computer System Servicing, Automotive
Servicing, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning, and Cookery. Classes start on first week of January 2020 until end of May 2020 to take five months course devoting four months for classroom instruction with hands on activities and one month for on the job training. PAGCOR in coordination with FILVETS will distribute Christmas Gift packages to veterans to be held at the Covered Court, EP Village Phase I, Bgy. Pinagsama, Taguig City on Dec. 7, at 9 a.m. This event will be with the participation of the Veterans Federation of the Philippine (VFP). A short program will be held prior to distribution and packed lunch will be served to the participating veterans.
On Dec. 7 at 2 p.m., FSTC graduates are invited to attend the 3rd alumni homecoming scheduled at Multipurpose Hall, FILVETS Building. The theme of the event is “coming together for dreams and aspirations.” The objectives are is to strengthen bonding relationship, share ideas and experiences, and provide inspiring thoughts and insights for livelihood and employment to interested members. On Dec. 11, at 10 a.m. FILVETS board of trustees together with corporate staff officers is scheduled to hold the year end meeting at the Board Room, FILVETS Building to be presided by Chairman Raul Urgello.
The following day on Dec. 12, at 9 a.m., Batch 43-2019 scholars studying at FILVETS Skills Training Center composed of 86 veterans, retired soldiers and direct dependents will have their graduation ceremonies at the Multipurpose Hall of the Foundation. These scholars are presently undergoing on in different business establishments to complete requirements for graduation.
Invited guest of honor and speaker is BGen. Luis Vincent Tacderas, AFP Chief of Pension and Gratuity Management Center (PGMC} of the Armed Forces of the Philippines.
