Anti-narcotics agents confiscated an estimated P42 million worth of shabu and apprehended eight suspects, including an alleged Chinese drug dealer, in three separate stings in Quezon City and Malabon over the weekend.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) first launched a drug bust near a gasoline station along Mindanao Avenue in Barangay Bagong Pag-asa, where they arrested Datu Boy Nasser, Norhana Nasser and Said Ampakay.

The trio allegedly yielded around P6.8 million worth of shabu.

Police said they seized the sport utility vehicle that the suspects used during the sting.

PDEA officials said the operation led to the next targets: the suspects’ drug suppliers in Barangay San Bartolome, Novaliches.

Police officers swooped down on the suspects’ hideout at Rockville Subdivision where they recovered around 1.3 kilos of shabu amounting to P8.84 million, five assault rifles, four handguns, bulletproof vests, ammunition, explosive devices and components in the production of bombs.

Four other suspects were nabbed during the sting. They were Kenneth Maclan, 44; Dennis Roque, 54; Harold Villasana, 39, and Carlito Biglang-awa, 58.

The third anti-narcotics operation in Dampalit, Malabon resulted in the arrest of a suspected Chinese drug dealer Tuan Xi Yuan, who allegedly yielded four kilos of shabu worth P27.2 million.

The drugs were packed in tea bags with Chinese labels, according to PDEA National Capital Region director Adrian Alvarino.

The suspects are being held by police on charges of sale and possession of shabu under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.

P3-M kush intercepted at NAIA

Meanwhile, the Bureau of Customs has intercepted P3.1 million worth of kush or high-grade marijuana from a parcel at the Central Mail Exchange Center at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

The contraband was misdeclared as chocolate, green and black tea and shirts. But Customs examiners found kush in the package upon physical examination.

The package was consigned to a Marikina resident.

Customs district collector Mimel Talusan said they turned over the marijuana to the PDEA yesterday.
