Medical donation to CDO hospital coursed thru Go
The office of Sen. Christopher Go has facilitated the donation of some medical equipment and supplies to the JR Borja General Hospital (JRBGH) in Cagayan de Oro City last Thursday.
These included the ultrasound machine donated by Pilipinas Shell Foundation and 2,000 face masks and 10 thermal scanners from the private sector, which should further equip the hospital in battling the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic.
“Today, we turn over these donations to your institution with the confidence that this will help you in diagnosing and treating your patients, no matter what their condition is,” said his message read by a staff.
Also distributed were 200 food packs to frontliners and other hospital staff, including those manning the Malasakit Center.
“In the middle of this global health crisis, we owe our immense gratitude to you, dear health professionals for tending to the sick, risking your lives in the process,” Go said as he thanked private donors for their generous donations and for trusting him and his office to facilitate the distribution and turnover to hospitals that need help the most.
Ramon Nery, acting chief of hospital, said Go has always helped city-run JRBGH in its endeavor to provide better healthcare services to constituents.
Nery mentioned that the hospital’s Malasakit Center has already given support to over 4,500 needy patients.
JRBGH has been helping decongest the Northern Mindanao Medical Center and also serves as an alternate center if the city’s number of COVID-19 cases surge.
Meanwhile, Go continues to remind the public to remain vigilant, especially without a vaccine yet for COVID-19. He also gave assurance that he will continue to support hospitals and facilities to further improve their services amid the ongoing pandemic.
His office, with the help of private sector supporters, also facilitated the turnover of private donations of medical supplies, such as personnel proteccases tive equipment, masks and alcohol to various hospitals and frontliners in Davao region and the rest of Mindanao.
