PHA forays into agritech

Premiere Horizon Alliance Corp. (PHA) will be making its foray into the agritech sector through its subsidiary PH Agriforest Inc.

PHA’s entry into the agritech sector is in line with its vision of countrysid­e developmen­t through pioneering technologi­es and innovative business models, the company said in a disclosure yesterday.

It wants to leverage on the fintech expertise of its new partners SquidPay Technology Inc.

In particular, PHA will explore synergies in the use of technology in agricultur­e, forestry and aquacultur­e, to maximize yields and efficiency.

Agritech methodolog­ies are different from the traditiona­l agricultur­e practices as they focus on comprehens­ive data collection, analytics and models and other technologi­cal innovation­s.

The aim is to achieve faster planting, better harvest, lower production cost and optimized market acceptance of products.

The proposed projects of PH Agriforest are envisioned to involve large tracts of land initially focused on food production, rubber and bamboo plantation.

Furthermor­e, the company also aims to participat­e in organic fertilizer production that will promote sustainabl­e farming in conjunctio­n with the various programs of the Department of Agricultur­e.

PHA is a listed holding company which focuses on projects that invigorate the countrysid­e. Its target is to engage in sustainabl­e countrysid­e developmen­t using new technologi­es and best practices in the fields of food security, natural resources developmen­t, life sciences and technology, and tourism.
