Frontier Towers reaches landmark 500 telco towers

-

Frontier Tower Associates Philippines Inc., a subsidiary of Pinnacle Towers and a leading independent tower company, has successfully erected its 500th common telecom tower this week, marking the most of any tower company in the Philippines. This milestone marks Frontier Towers’ latest contribution to the development of critical digital infrastructure in the Philippines.

Frontier Towers works closely with the country’s leading mobile network operators to invest in, build and operate digital infrastructure under the government’s common tower policy. By constructing more common telecom towers that can be used by multiple mobile network operators concurrently, mobile network operators are able to improve their offerings to Filipino consumers, such as through improved speeds, in a sustainable manner.

Frontier Towers is an established leader in the local towers market, being one of the earliest independent companies to secure an operating license from the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

Over the years, it has continued to be at the forefront of the industry in the Philippines with its proven build-to-suit and power solution capabilities, as well as secured funding for future investments. Frontier Towers maintains the largest presence in the Philippines of any tower company in terms of people, facilities, operations, and land bank, and employs more than 150 people directly across Luzon, Mindanao and Visayas, as well as many hundreds indirectly through its partnerships with local contractors and other businesses.

“Frontier is proud to reach this significant milestone of 500 common telecom towers, the most of any tower company in the Philippines. This significant achievement has been made possible with the support of a number of government agencies including the DICT and the AntiRed Tape Authority (ARTA), together with the support of the various local government units and our customers. We look forward to continuing to invest in the growth of digital infrastructure in the Philippines to deliver stronger connectivity and sustainable, inclusive economic growth to the people of the Philippines,” said Patrick Tangney, chairman and CEO of Pinnacle Towers and Frontier Towers.
