EYES ON THE FUTURE: ROBINSONS LAND’S NEW LIFESTYLE DESTINATION BEGINS

- By IRIS GONZALES

Anew and iconic lifestyle destination is set to rise in the prized location at the corner of EDSA and Pioneer street in Mandaluyong, marking a new era of shopping, dining and leisure experiences for customers, Filipinos and visitors alike.

At the center of the development is a new regional mall by Robinsons Land Corporation (RLC), one of the country's biggest property companies.

“The new mall will be the heart of what is touted as a bigger, better, luxurious and more complete lifestyle destination that has its sights set on the future,” says Arlene Magtibay, SVP and General Manager of Robinsons Malls.

Indeed, RLC will redevelop what used to be Forum Robinsons which closed in May after 18 years, to give way to a new lifestyle center that is more attuned to the times -- with even better accessibility, more choices for consumers, more dining options and more opportunities to enjoy an elevated lifestyle-but all in harmony with the environment.

This is in response to the changing world--an era that is now seeing the Filipino aspiring only for the best that life has to offer.

ACCESSIBILITY

The new lifestyle destination is easily accessible to and from Quezon City, Pasig, BGC in Taguig, Pateros, Makati, Manila and even nearby provinces, says Magtibay, making it a perfect go-to place for those who live and work in these neighboring areas.

The site is also a stone's throw away from BGC because of the new Sta. Monica bridge, which cuts travel time from Mandaluyong to Taguig to less than 10 minutes.

For commuters, the new destination is a few steps from MRT-3's Boni Station in

Mandaluyong, a short distance from the bus stops along EDSA and is certainly the perfect pitstop for bikers and riders.

The planned Metro Manila and Makati subways will also make the metro more connected and this would benefit the Forum Robinsons area. Even the Pasig River has a nearby station.

The location, indeed, is a jewel in itself because it is along Metro Manila's main thoroughfare, at a point which is most accessible not just to both ends of EDSA but to different points in the middle, connecting it to nearly every other city in the metro.

To maximize its strategic location, RLC will make the whole development even more accessible than it already is by adding more walkways, paths and linkages for a seamless experience throughout the destination complex.

ICONIC DESIGN

As RLC sets its sights on the future, the new district promises to be among the best in the country which Filipinos will be proud of.

The design and architectural qualities will bear both style and functionality while being responsive to the needs of the environment -- as how structures of the future should be.

Toward this end, RLC is collaborating with design and construction consultants who are among the best in the field.

One can surely imagine a new lifestyle center that is bigger, better, and much more exciting not just for the loyal patrons of the former Forum Robinsons but for shoppers from nearby condominiums, office buildings and residential communities located in nearby cities, Magtibay adds.

"This is to ensure that the new mall will raise the bar in providing a delightful shopping experience," Magtibay says.

While the new mall is being constructed, residents and employees of the nearby office and residential complex can still depend on the continuous operation of the Transport Terminal in the vicinity.

They can also look forward to a new food hall that will be opened to the public by the fourth quarter of this year.

“This project, while being constructed and once completed, will generate the much needed jobs for our countrymen. Through job creation, RLC hopes to do its share in nation building.”

SYNERGY WITH OFFICE TENANTS

Jericho Go, Senior Vice President - General Manager at RLC said current and future office tenants within the entire complex where Forum Robinsons is located stand to benefit from this redevelopment as it will certainly revitalize the entire mixed-use district.

"The masterfully designed amenities, features and iconic structures of this redevelopment are meant to stand out and be a source of pride and joy for Filipinos," Go says.

RLC residents, too and staycationers and travelers alike who are residing or staying in the complex can also look forward to what the bigger, more dynamic and new mall will offer in the future.

CREATING JOBS

The redevelopment would also generate more jobs and would help in the country's post-pandemic economic recovery.

"This project, while being constructed and once completed, will generate the much needed jobs for our countrymen. Through job creation, RLC hopes to do its share in nation building," Go says.

MAKING MEMORIES

The whole transformation would span five to seven years and continue on for the next ten years.

The result would be a new and redeveloped destination that fits right into the future.

Here, old timers and newcomers alike can make new memories with all the new concepts and fresh offerings that await them.

"This is really a diamond," Go says.
