Ty-led Metropolitan Bank & Trust Co. (Metrobank) has expanded its partnership with PERA HUB of the Aboitiz Group to boost its remittance channels nationwide.

Richard So, executive vice president and retail banking sector head at Metrobank, said the tie up allows individuals to conveniently send money to Metrobank account holders.

Metrobank and PERA HUB have been providing Filipinos with accessible remittance channels to help them send money to their loved ones wherever they may be.

“This added service with our partner, PERA HUB, shows that Metrobank remains committed to our customers in improving our services and providing them with more accessible and convenient channels to conduct their financial transactions with us,” So said.

As part of the service, individuals who need to send cash to Metrobank account holders need to go to the nearest PERA HUB branch to accomplish the remittance form, and show a valid ID.

Senders could remit between P100 and P25,000, while recipients could easily withdraw the money over-thecounter in any of the Metrobank branches and ATMs.

Metrobank, owned by the family of the late taipan George SK Ty, is the country’s second largest bank.

PERA HUB, the retail brand of PETNET Inc., has over 3,000 locations nationwide that provides its customers with a comprehensive scope of reliable financial services in one location.

In 2018, City Savings Bank and Union Properties acquired the 51 percent stake of Aboitiz Equity Ventures in PETNET as part of initiatives of the Aboitiz Group to consolidate all its financial services under Union Bank of the Philippines.
