Ayala Land Estates supports the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation Week

This week, the country celebrates the 44th National Disability Prevention and Rehabilitation (NDPR) Week from July 17 to 23 as declared by Proclamation No. 1870 (1970), as amended by Proclamation No. 361 (2000) and Administrative Order No. 35 (2002).

The week-long event is commemorated annually to increase public awareness on the issues and challenges of disability. It also encourages society to take active responsibility in the upliftment of the economic and social conditions of all persons with disabilities (PWDs).

The week culminates on July 23, the birthday of Filipino hero, Apolinario Mabini, whose exemplary and dedicated heroic acts during the Philippine Revolution despite his disability, has greatly influenced the declaration and observance of disability prevention and rehabilitation. Mabini has become an outstanding icon for persons with disabilities (PWDs) to take pro-active roles in nation building.

Ayala Land Estates joins the country in celebration of this significant event with the release of its video with the message, “Inclusive Spaces. Equal Opportunities."

This is the third of a series of videos which highlight how the company’s estates provide safe spaces for the community to thrive, even in the midst of the pandemic and moving forward.

The video features Abel Villamar, a hearingimpaired culinary student; Judy Gacho, a mobilitychallenged real estate broker; and Fedi Roa, a culinary arts graduate living with autism. All three are remarkable individuals— not only to their families, but to the community as well. They demonstrate that despite the challenges of their disability, they are differently-abled and can be productive members of society, especially if they are provided with opportunities in spaces which are safe and inclusive.

Ayala Land strives to create an environment which encourages the integration of persons with disabilities into society. Its 31 integrated master-planned estates across the country are designed with facilities for PWDs, and ensure safety so they can be enjoyed with family and friends.
