‘Good leads’ in missing CEO case

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has obtained what it described as good leads that could shed light on the disappearance of a chief executive officer (CEO) of a pharmaceutical company in Bonifacio Global City, Taguig last month, an official said yesterday.

PNP spokesperson Col. Jean Fajardo said the Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG) is working on the information they have obtained in coordination with other government agencies.

“May mga magagandang lead tayong sinusundan magmula na mai-report ito ng kanyang malalapit na kaibigan at mga kaanak (We are following up on good leads after they were reported by close friends and family),” she said in an interview over Teleradyo.

Fajardo declined to give details as they do not want to jeopardize the ongoing investigation.

She said they are also looking at several persons of interest who might give more vital information on what happened to the pharmaceutical executive.

The STAR, quoting a source, earlier reported that police are investigating at least four people in connection with the CEO’s disappearance.

One of the persons of interest was the executive’s driver, who was with him at the time he went missing on July 19.

Fajardo confirmed the CEO’s driver was among the persons who are under investigation.

She also confirmed that the CEO’s vehicle, a Toyota Land Cruiser, is newly bought. It was later found burned in San Luis, Pampanga.

Just before he disappeared, the CEO met up with his personal assistant, who gave him P5.7 million in cash and two branded watches.

He was supposed to meet three people, two women and a man, but he canceled the meeting for unknown reasons.

A source said the three people are not the ones who are included in the list of persons of interest.
