ROBB REPORT HAILS BENTLEY CONTINENTAL GT S AS 2023 ‘CAR OF THE YEAR’
Prestigious publication cites ultimate Grand Touring model for its “wow factor”
The Bentley Continental GT S range claimed the top honors at a prominent competition for luxury vehicles presented by Robb Report. A jury composed of the esteemed publication’s editors and over 175 readers evaluated the ultimate Grand Touring model in several categories, including looks, performance, luxury, comfort and utility, as well as in intangible tiebreakers such as “wow factor” and collectability.
After a two-part test with the model’s coupe and convertible versions, the Bentley Continental GT S topped the field of more than 10 finalists to clinch Robb Report’s “Car of the Year” crown for 2023.
“It’s fitting that both the Continental GT model and Robb Report’s Car of the Year are celebrating 20th anniversaries, as each have become benchmarks in their own right. That Bentley has taken our top honor two years in a row reflects its commitment to excellence and our readership’s knowledge and experience with the finest cars in the world, said Robb Report editor-in-chief Paul Croughton.
The result is the fourth title for the Bentley Continental GT since the awards’ inception. The Continental GT first won in 2004, followed by the Continental GT Convertible in 2007, and the Continental GT Speed in 2022.
Bentley Motors Chairman and CEO Adrian Hallmark said the awards prove that in the two decades following the Bentley Continental GT nameplate’s launch, the model continues to define the pinnacle of the Grand Touring segment.
“Consecutive wins for different models of Continental GT with Robb Report’s decisive Car of the Year judging is testament to the strength of the family, and the character and performance of the new S range. Extraordinary cars like these, independently recognized as being the best in the world, are at the core of Bentley’s record performance in 2022 despite so much turbulence in the industry,” Hallmark said.
The Bentley Continental GT S range features enhanced exterior design, interior specification and dynamic system. The new S range focuses on driving pleasure, complementing the comfort-centric Azure range.
Distinguishing the Bentley Continental GT S range are dark exterior detailing and an amplified Bentley Dynamic Ride — an advanced 48-volt electric active anti-roll control system pioneered by Bentley. Matched to these is a 550 ps, 770 Nm, 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. All this brings attitude, agility and depth to the grand touring recipe of the Continental GT.
