BOC seizes P25.4-M drugs
The Bureau of Customs (BOC) intercepted yesterday six inbound parcels containing assorted illegal drugs valued at P25.4 million.
The BOC’s Inter-Agency Drug Interdiction Task Group seized the parcels from a warehouse at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.
The parcels contained 11.988 kilos of highgrade “kush” marijuana with a street value of 16.78 million; 4,897 ecstasy tablets valued at P8.3 million; 68 milliliters of marijuana oil with an estimated value of P3,400; 966 grams of marijuana gummy candies, and 50 grams of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu valued at P340,000.
The shabu was in a parcel sent by John Williams from Australia to Kage Jonathan Tobias.
A box shipped by Teodora Mendoza from the United States and consigned to Lily Dy Tan of Manila contained eight bottles of marijuana gummies.
The marijuana leaves were in parcels sent by Sarah Johnson and Helen Grace Ovedo, both of Los Angeles, to Roger Bonaventura of Mandaluyong.
Ecstasy tablets were hidden in a parcel sent by VanKoni Murie of France to Kwakye Akwasie Kingsley of San Carlos, Pangasinan.
The drugs were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency for proper disposal and filing of cases against the importers and recipients, the BOC said.
