AUTOHUB ENTERS ‘OUT-OF-WARRANTY’ SERVICE BUSINESS WITH NEXTHUB

- By KAP MACEDA AGUILA

It’s no secret that people often take their vehicles out of the casa as soon as the warranty lapses – obviously in pursuit of lower service fees and rates while, of course, meeting their rides’ preventive maintenance schedule, along with the occasional repair needed.

Cognizant of this pain point, the Autohub Group, a noted distributor, retailer, and service provider to “some of the most desirable brands renowned throughout the world,” has opened Nexthub Auto Care. A simultaneous launch of its seven sites in Taytay, Quezon Avenue, Valenzuela, Otis, Marikina, Pasig, and the Bonifacio Global City (BGC) was held recently at the BGC location.

It makes sense for Autohub to be in this area, not just to prevent the attrition of clients from its ecosystem, but to leverage its expertise since it’s clearly in a position to enter this realm – with 24 years of experience in the industry.

“Nexthub was conceptualized because we know that a lot of customers, after the warranty period on their vehicles, don’t return to our dealerships. We think it’s a pity if we lose these customers who have been going to our (OEM) dealerships for three or five years. After the warranty period, a lot of them would transfer to three-star shops,” underscored Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten. “It’s an opportunity for us to continue taking care of their vehicles after the warranty period. Nexthub is designed to service clients with the same casa quality and experience, but with lower prices. The customer also has the option to go for original equipment or parts, or an aftermarket one. However, the aftermarket parts we sell are also high-end, reputable parts. We don’t want to work with disposable parts.”

With a tagline “Gawang Casa, Presyong Masa (casa quality at affordable pricing),” Nexthub is clear about its intent. It welcomes all brands, declared Tee Ten – even the brands not carried by Autohub. Replying to a question from this writer, he said: “There are only a few brands not among (our) marques – like Toyota, Honda, and Isuzu. What we do is hire technicians for these brands that are not in our group. As for the rest, we’ll take care of them as members of the Autohub Group.”

Compared to other third-party auto care shops, Nexthub will have a slight premium in pricing. Tee Ten calls the competition “three-star shops,” declaring, “We’re a five-star shop with four-star pricing.” Even luxury brands are welcome – particularly at its BGC and Pasig locations. Appended to its name in these shops is “Premier.”

To clarify, Nexthub isn’t competing with casas because it is after clients whose vehicles have expired warranties – typically after the third or five year. And owing to its size, Nexthub can fill the needs of a larger number of vehicles. “We’re open to accommodating the needs of fleets,” stated Autohub Group VP for Marketing, Creatives, and Fleet Owee Cruz. “We bring in expertise and the best practices in casa operations.”

“We may not be under any manufacturer, but we set our standards high, and are practical. After 24 years in the auto industry, we know what is appreciated by our customers. We’ve also tied up with reliable and prestigious companies to make sure that our products are not only above average but the best,” maintained Tee Ten.

These partners are Motolite, Shell lubricants, Automobile Association Philippines, Pioneer Insurance, ACCS, and Moto ACCS. Nexthub promises best pricing on Motolite batteries. “If there’s anybody cheaper, we’ll refund the difference,” he averred.

Nexthub offers services such as oil change, mechanical repairs, ATF dialysis, wheel alignment, towing, rotor disc refacing, exterior and interior detailing, and underwashing. It can also facilitate vehicle trade-in and insurance renewal. Meanwhile, painting and body repair services are handled by sister company Painthub.
