Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC) has incorporated a joint venture company called FCJB Foods Inc. to bring Tiong Bahru Bakery and Common Man Coffee Roasters in the Philippines.

The Asian food conglomerate said FCJB Foods has been formally incorporated with the Securities and Exchange Commission.

FCJB Foods is a joint venture company between JFC and Food Collective Pte. Ltd. (FCPL) that will be the franchisee for Tiong Bahru Bakery and Common Man Coffee Roasters in the country.

JFC owns 60 percent of the business, while FCPL holds the remaining 40 percent.

JFC earlier said the joint venture company would initially have an authorized capital stock of P250 million. It will have its own management, with JFC providing support.

Tiong Bahru Bakery is famous for its baked goods, while Common Man Coffee Roasters produces high quality food and coffee using traditional techniques.

The brands are seen as a strong addition to JFC’s foreign franchised brands, helping strengthen its position for further growth in the Philippine market.

The first Common Man Coffee Roasters store will be located at Ayala Triangle Gardens.

Jollibee Group chief real estate and design officer William Tan Untiong earlier said that location is crucial in establishing Common Man’s foothold in the country.

With Ayala Triangle Gardens at the heart of Makati’s central business district and a hub for many great concepts in the city, Untiong said it is only fitting that the group sets up shop in the prime location to fully bring the signature Common Man Coffee Roasters concept to life.
