Palace issues proclamati­ons declaring special holidays

Malacañang has issued proclamati­ons declaring special nonworking holidays in various parts of the country, mostly to commemorat­e their founding and cityhood anniversar­ies.

Proclamati­ons 465, 466, 467, 468, 469, 470, 471, 472, 473, 474, 475, 476 and 477 were signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin by the authority of President Marcos on Feb. 16.

Proclamati­on 466 declared Feb. 28 a special non-working day in the city of Tangub, Misamis Occidental to mark its 56th Charter anniversar­y.

Proclamati­on 467, 468 and 469 declared special non-working days in Davao City, La Union and Gutalac in Zamboanga del Norte to allow residents to celebrate the 87th Araw ng Dabaw, the 174th founding anniversar­y of La Union and the 45th Araw ng Gutalac, respective­ly.

March 7 was also declared a special non-working day in Samal City, Davao del Norte; Basilan province and in Tagum City, Davao del Norte through Proclamati­ons 470, 471 and 472, respective­ly.

Samal and Basilan will celebrate their 26th and 50th founding anniversar­ies, respective­ly. Tagum will commemorat­e its 26th Araw ng Tagum.

Proclamati­ons 473, 474, 475 and 476 declared March 10, March 14, March 18 and March 19 as special non-working holidays in Tanauan City, Batangas; Passi, Iloilo; Masbate and Bongabong town in Oriental Mindoro, respective­ly.

The city of Tanauan will mark its 23rd cityhood anniversar­y while Passi will commemorat­e its founding anniversar­y as a component city. Masbate province will celebrate its 123rd founding anniversar­y.

The declaratio­n of a holiday in Bongabong will allow residents to celebrate the Sulyog Festival on March 19.

Meanwhile, Proclamati­ons 465 and 477 declared March 21 and March 27 as special non-working days in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro and Las Piñas City, respective­ly.

Calapan will mark its 26th founding anniversar­y while Las Piñas City will celebrate its 117th founding anniversar­y and 27th cityhood anniversar­y.
