F rom last season’s multistrand pearls and delicate earrings, fashion moved to a bolder approach in some houses to provide contrapunto to the streamlined looks, as seen at Versace with their jacket pearl earrings and the bold necklaces at Kimhekim, but others like Kate Spade opted for the more traditional styles so there’s something for everyone.

Our local jewelers proffer many covetable options, using the country’s national gem, the South Sea pearl. B old adornment for the wrists were gauntlet-like at Schiaparelli and Rabanne and sculptural at Loewe. They came stacked at Carolina Herrera and Balmain. Paul Syjuco has a stunning cuff in pearls, while Kristine Dee has multicolored gemstone bangles that you can stack. G et the easy boho vibe by layering necklaces, each one a conversation piece but all harmonizing together the way they show them at Chanel and Burberry. Natalya Lagdameo’s antique beads mixed with colonial components are collectibles, and so are Joyce Makitalo’s talismanic pendant necklaces, all of which you can layer with your existing pieces.

Classics reign supreme in 2024 when investment pieces are key, from pearls to dripping diamonds, reflecting the easy luxury of the clothes that suit our everyday needs — the types that we can live with to last for many seasons and even pass on as heirloom pieces of tomorrow. D iamonds are indeed eternal and to give their collections a touch of the timeless, houses like Altuzarra featured models wearing those precious gems. Givenchy elevated its couture with Tiffany & Co.’s High Jewelry collection featuring diamonds set en tremblant, lending a sense of motion to their divine creations.

Erica Concepcion Reyes’ Riqueza Jewelry has estate styles like a gorgeous Art Deco bracelet. You can never go wrong with Hans Brumann’s pieces like dangling earrings or brooches in contemporary designs.

TWith the prevalence of minimalist, quiet fashion, of course, it is inevitable that we gravitate to statement-making jewelry like sculptural cuffs and bold earrings and rings. When more is more can be too much, we can turn to asymmetry so that wearing only one earring can speak volumes. uffs make statement earpieces without the dangles. While they have a punk vibe like last season’s, they are more luxe and refined this time, in gold and silver at Loewe and Zimmermann. he runways were abloom both in garments and jewelry, from long-stemmed corsages at Simone Rocha to floral bouquets at Vivienne Westwood. Kristine Dee has graceful abstract floral brooches in diamond pavé. T L Riqueza @riquezajewellery

Since the need to connect to nature is everpresent, we will adorn ourselves with flora and fauna. Warmer weather and the need to relax will make boho looks ubiquitous and with that, layers of jewelry channeling a hippie party vibe will make it a fun summer to remember. ike pearls and diamonds, links are classics. Sacai mixed metal with clear links for a lighter look. Natalya Lagdameo’s gold necklaces come in oval links that you can layer, while Joyce Makitalo’s silver versions come with unusual charms. dd edge to a look by going asymmetric, wearing only one earring, the way models at Prabal Gurung and Anteprima wore them or going mismatched the way Fendi, Schiaparelli and Valentino did. he animal kingdom is well represented in adornments: insects galore at Erdem with antenna-like tiaras and dragonfly necklaces, snakes on necks at Y/Project and cows dangling from ears at Tory Burch. Spiders and bees in South Sea pearls from Arao Jewellery can add that added zing to a terno or gown. D S W hat could be more classic than a cameo, which punctuated multistrand pearl necklaces at Adeam and Selkie? Riqueza always has some vintage pieces that have been reworked with other gemstones. on’t neglect the hands — they have to say something, too, when you’re holding that champagne flute. Joyce Makitalo has those multi-stoned cocktail rings with just as many stories. You can also stack smaller rings to give the same impact as a single whopper. ummer holidays are already in the air with sea creatures adorning necks, ears and wrists. For something special have one commissioned at Hans Brumann, who designed a stunning jellyfish pendant in baroque pearls, sapphires and moonstones.
