DigiPlus allots P100 M for corporate outreach

- By RICHMOND MERCURIO

Listed retail gaming provider DigiPlus Interactive Corp. is raising five-fold its planned spending on various projects and initiatives that provide support to important causes through the BingoPlus Foundation.

DigiPlus intends to spend over P100 million this year for its corporate outreach projects, significantly higher than last year’s budget of P20 million.

Beyond just providing Filipinos with avenues for responsible entertainment, DigiPlus said the budget is part of its efforts to give back to local communities.

“BingoPlus Foundation is an aspect of our business we take great pride in. Through the foundation, we provide concrete support to members of the community that have helped make us such a successful business to begin with. That’s why this year, we’re going the extra mile to strategically offer the best possible support and assistance to Filipinos via four pillars of advocacy,” DigiPlus president Andy Tsui said.

BingoPlus Foundation has identified four pillars of advocacy to focus on for 2024.

The first is supporting the next generation of Filipino tech talents by alleviating the financial strain for promising young students studying technology.

The BingoPlus Foundation last year signed a three-year FutureSmart scholarship program worth P6 million with iAcademy.

DigiPlus said 10 scholars are now studying under the program and with the larger budget in 2024, more students will be supported.

“Under this pillar, the foundation hopes to help young Filipinos find their place in the continuously growing tech industry worldwide. Investing in these young talents could help the Philippines have a key role in how tech continues to grow internationally in the future,” DigiPlus said.

Another major pillar identified by the foundation is to provide accessible healthcare to Filipinos in need.

This would involve not only providing financial support to those in need, but also potentially aiding local hospitals by boosting their facilities, DigiPlus said.

BingoPlus Foundation is also looking to address the urgent needs of urban communities as well as advocate for online safety focusing primarily on responsible digitalization.

Creating a safe online environment for all is in line with BingoPlus Foundation’s commitment to responsible digital entertainment which it hopes to extend to all digital spaces.

“We strongly believe in the four pillars that the BingoPlus Foundation are focused on,” Tsui said.

“We’re excited to see all their hard work and planning come to fruition in the coming year. We hope to help more and more people in 2024 and the years to come,” he said.

DigiPlus is set to join the FTSE Global Equity Index Series (Micro Cap) on March 15, underscoring the company’s emergence as a key player in the digital technology sector.

The FTSE Global Equity Index Series is renowned for its comprehensive coverage of the global equity market, providing investors with valuable insights and benchmarks to assess investment opportunities.

Since venturing into the digital segment in January 2022, DigiPlus has rapidly amassed a robust user base across its digital ecosystem.

The launch of innovative game offerings, including the highly popular Color Game, a livestreaming specialty game reminiscent of traditional carnival games, has further solidified DigiPlus’ position as a trailblazer in the digital entertainment sphere.
