Training program on the Revised Corporation Code
The Center for Global Best Practices is hosting an online training on the 2019 Revised Corporation Code of the Philippines on March 15 from 1:30 to 5 p.m. via Zoom.
This program is designed to help in business compliance, in structuring deals, in avoiding the legal pitfalls when making decisions in board and management level, or in doing business and investments in the Philippines.
The revised legal framework introduces fresh concepts aligned with international best practices aimed at improving ease of doing business in the country. It will also cover updates on essential Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) issued regulations and recent jurisprudence affecting corporations. This program is SEC-accredited for corporate governance and is MCLE-accredited for lawyers. Board directors and key management officials of public or publicly listed companies are mandated by the SEC to attend a yearly corporate governance training for them to be eligible for re-election in the board. Learn from Atty. Justina Callangan, the former director of the SEC’s Corporate Governance and Finance Department. Her responsibilities included the supervision of companies that are covered by new various Codes of Corporate Governance. She is a director (representing the public sector) of the Securities Investors Protection Fund Inc. and an independent director of AIB Money Market Mutual Fund Inc. and Orix Metro Leasing and Finance Corp. of the Metrobank Group. She also serves as independent director of three publicly listed firms - Panasonic Manufacturing Philippines Corp., Vista Land and Lifescapes Inc. and VistaReit Inc.
Registration is open to the general public and is a must for chair and board directors, corporate secretaries, compliance officers, lawyers, accountants, entrepreneurs, investors, business consultants, and decision makers of all corporations.
