Lady Knights tie Benilde, Lyceum foes at helm

-

If there is a most improved team in NCAA women’s volleyball, there is no denying it’s the Letran Lady Knights.

The difference was like night and day as Oliver Almadro’s amazing Letran team has made a lot of heads turn after hurdling their first three assignments, the most recent was Emilio Aguinaldo in a 25-22, 25-21, 23-25, 25-15 victory yesterday in NCAA Season 99 at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.

And the Lady Knights, who did not make the Final Four a year ago, are now at the helm alongside the College of St. Benilde Lady Blazers, who swept the last two seasons, and the Lyceum of the Philippines University Lady Pirates, the losing finalists a year back.

“It’s all about believing in their abilities,” said Almadro, who is hoping to end the pontifical school’s 25-year title drought.

Earlier, LPU likewise claimed its third win in a row with a 25-15, 22-25, 25-11, 27-25 win over Arellano U.

Johna Dolorito presided over the attack with 20 points including 18 kills while Joan Doguna, Janeth Tulang and Heart Bio contributed 16, 14 and 11 hits, respectively.
