Despite its moniker, the recent launch of Amady Manila proves that Manila doesn’t have the monopoly on seasoned photographers and videographers. The Iloilo-born company is a premium wedding video and photo service aimed toward clients who want to relive the poignant stories of the most special events of their lives.

Amady’s roots can be traced back to 2006— when it was still known as Mayad Creatives— in Iloilo. The mother company eventually transferred to Manila in 2010 and was then rebranded as Amady Iloilo in 2017 to pay homage to its roots. Currently, it is known as Amady Manila and operates with three core team members: Archel (general manager), Darilyn (sales and marketing), Chris (production head) and Sheena (CEO of Mayad Creatives).

“For us, as a team, it is all about the overall experience of the client. From the moment they inquire to the day of the wedding and postproduction, we make sure that every moment counts. We provide the most efficient way possible, without leaving out [any] detail. We [allot] time [for the] creation process to have stress-free pre-production. We take pride in capturing moments [during] the wedding day and ensure after-event services.”

So far Amady’s visual portfolio reflects its cinematic approach to filmmaking, which relies heavily on touching narratives gleaned from the clients’ backstories. Amady’s penchant for voiceover introductions, tight shots and soft focus underscore the latent emotional journey behind each couple’s story, giving Amady’s films a heartfelt quality.

“The trust given to us is overwhelming and every booking that we have gives us that same feeling of excitement, like it is our first time

[all over again],” recounts the team of Amady’s turning point after landing their first client and the subsequent successes they’ve had since.

While Amady considers each client important, a particular one stands out from memory.

“Having one of the people from the wedding industry trust us with shooting their prewedding video: the style they want and the style we do matched [and it] made shooting fun. Having that kind of confidence given to us by a wedding supplier validates what we are passionate about,” shares the Amady team.

Having covered a number of weddings over the years, Amady considers preparation a necessary step in managing expectations and resolving problems that may arise.

“We believe that [resolution] is in the process. Planning a wedding can be stressful and we understand that, so we make sure that we give the most efficient [option] for the couples and capture what really matters,” the team explains.

During peak season, the pressures and physical demands of the job can be exhausting, but for the Amady team, the pros outweigh the cons because every photograph they produce makes all the work worth it.

“That kind of excitement will always be contagious and adds more meaning to what we do,” the team explains.

More than just the wedding accoutrements like the gown, bouquet and rings—the Amady team likes to focus on fleeting, significant moments, such as congratulatory hugs and kisses, the tears in the parents’ eyes while giving away the bride during the ceremony, and so on.

“We believe in the moments of details. We believe there is beauty in the smallest details and we are here to capture every moment,” the team promises.

As they point out, moments like these highlight the significance of an event.

“May we never forget the true beauty and meaning of weddings.”
