It was just another day in the office, Dappy had reported to work as usual, but someone caught his eye. Her name is Kyna, a young associate straight from a law firm, she’d chosen to join the corporate world to advance her career, and today, she had an interview with Dappy’s boss. Kyna had transferred from a law firm, excited to try out corporate law for a change. She’s the type of woman that once she sets a goal, she can’t be distracted from it.
Meanwhile, Dappy was very distracted. It’s this funny little thing people like to call “love at first sight”, and he felt like she was looking, so he turned to look back at her, only to find she wasn’t.
Fast forward to the orientation for new employees, Dappy and Kyna cross paths a second time and this time, he would be her training officer. After formally meeting for the first time, Dappy was now visible on Kyna’s radar despite not giving her any special attention.
On Kyna’s first day, Dappy found himself following her to the elevator to ask if she was heading out to lunch. Kyna’s answer was a simple “yes”, followed by her suddenly closing the elevator doors. It wasn’t long before they decided to go on a real date in an uptown cafe in the middle of one of the busiest business districts in the metro. Everything was going alright until Cupid interfered. Equipped with only one umbrella to share, it suddenly poured, forcing the two to finish their ice cream under one umbrella in the rain. Oh, how we wish this was made up!
The one thing Dappy didn’t expect from dating
Kyna was how it would allow him to develop a close relationship with Google just to keep up with their discussions. While most men shy away from intelligent and opinionated women, this is one of the many things that fascinated Dappy about Kyna.
For a while, Kyna’s guard was up with Dappy.
While he had love at first sight, she remained cautious. Gradually, however, Kyna began to grow more and more in love with this charming man who allowed her to get to know him at her pace.
Eventually, Kyna left the corporate law scene, but she didn’t leave empty-handed. Believing in fate, Kyna felt that she was placed there for a short time because she was meant to meet the love of her life. Dappy, on the other hand, was also planning to leave corporate life to pursue his entrepreneurial dreams, but it was as if he was waiting for her too.
