Figueiredo returned to winning after a long hiatus of three years, conquering in November the last of the PGA Portugal Tour tournaments counting for the 2016 1080 Produções Order of Merit, the Hilti/Mota Engil PGA Open. “It was good. There was also the debut of Tomás Silva as a professional, after he finished the previous week as Portugal’s number one amateur. Finally, the quest for the top position on the 2016 1080 Produções Order of Merit was rife, with Hugo Santos and Tiago Cruz striving for number one. To make it even more interesting, Afonso Girão led the tournament after 18 holes. An amateur, member of the FPG national team, challenging some of the best professionals in Portugal, with an excellent round of 62, 6 under par. This was all relegated to second place, though, with the victory by Pedro Figueiredo, with a total of 128 strokes, 8 under par, after rounds of 65 and 63. Figgy got a prize of 1500 euro, and beat by a single stroke the two players tied in second place, amateur Afonso Girão (62+67) and professional Hugo Santos (65+64).
