Sporting: match-play champion

Carlos Valente became the match play champion for Golfe do Sporting when he beat Gennaro Pugliese in the final, at the Belas course, after a play-off. In an exciting final, Pugliese was up three holes after the first nine, but Carlos Valente kept recovering. At the 18th, Valente scored and tied the match, forcing a play off on the 1st hole, which he won again, and winning the trophy which had been Carlos Pelado’s in 2015. To reach the final Carlos Valente eliminated four players: Luis Raposo, Telmo Campos, Rene Cordeiro and José Gameiro Fernandes. On the other side, Gennaro eliminated: Ricardo Gomes, Luciano Assunção, Sérgio Pereira and Nuno Carmo.

Carlos Valente sagrou-se campeão de match-play do Golfe do Sporting ao vencer na final o empresário Gennaro Pugliese no percurso de Belas, após play-off. Numa final empolgante, Pugliese ganhava por três buracos após os primeiros nove, mas Carlos Valente foi recuperando. No buraco 18 Valente ganhou e empatou o match, obrigando ao desempate no buraco 1, que voltou a ganhar e garantindo a conquista do troféu que em 2015 foi ganho por Carlos Pelado. Para chegar à final Carlos Valente eliminou quatro jogadores – Luís Raposo, Telmo Campos, René Cordeiro e José Gameiro Fernandes. Por seu lado Gennaro eliminou Ricardo Gomes, Luciano Assunção, Sérgio Pereira e Nuno Carmo.
