GOLF HAS A FUTURE
Ibelieve that all the efforts initiated by the clubs and FPG in terms of training generate hope for the future of golf. Nevertheless, success can only be attained if the goals are shared by all those that in some way have influence on their growth, and development and are, above all else, sensitive to its needs. Golf needs for courses and clubs to gather around the most important participants: youth. And that they are capable of receiving them with open arms, allowing them to play at low, or no cost, because they are truly the future of golf. Since its inception, the board of Automovel Club de Portugal wanted to have ACP Golfe as a motive power of the sport. Naturally closer to the members, we work on a growth perspective, allowing youth access for free or at very low cost, never forgetting we need to attract more players, developing partnerships with courses and schools, with the idea of creating more favourable conditions for their initiation in golf. It has been with great pride and emotion that we, just like many Portuguese, have followed the results of ACP golfer Ricardo Melo Gouveia. The young Portuguese knows he can count on the support of all ACP members on his trip through the world of professional golf. We believe he can play a fundamental role in the growth of golf, inspiring many Portuguese youth to take their first steps in the direction of golf. One of my favourite times of the year is arriving, Christmas. The prime time to be with family and – who knows – to enthral someone with golf. It is in this spirit that we challenge all readers of GOLFE PRESS, surely one of the most important media supporting golf in the country, to help grow the golfing family.

Acredito que todas as apostas feitas pelos clubes e pela FPG na área da formação, transmitem esperança para o futuro da modalidade. No entanto, o sucesso só se alcança se os objetivos forem partilhados por todos aqueles que de alguma forma tenham influência no seu crescimento, desenvolvimento e acima de tudo, sensíveis às suas necessidades. A modalidade precisa que os campos e clubes se unam em torno daquilo que é mais importante, os jovens. E que sejam capazes de os receber de braços abertos, disponibilizando-lhes a prática a preços residuais ou mesmo sem custos, pois eles são o futuro do Golfe. Desde sempre que a direção do Automóvel Club de Portugal quis tornar o ACP Golfe numa força deste desporto. Naturalmente vocacionados para os sócios, trabalhamos numa lógica de crescimento, praticando condições de acesso gratuitas ou muito especiais para os jovens, nunca descurando a necessidade de trazer mais jogadores, desenvolvendo parcerias com campos e academias, no sentido de criar as condições mais favoráveis para a iniciação ao golfe. Tem sido com grande orgulho e emoção que, tal como grande parte dos portugueses, tenho seguido de perto o desempenho do golfista ACP, Ricardo Melo Gouveia. O jovem português sabe que pode contar com o apoio de todos os sócios ACP nesta sua viagem pelo mundo do golfe profissional. Acreditamos que ele possa via a ter um papel preponderante no crescimento da modalidade, inspirando muitos jovens portugueses a darem o primeiro passo na direção do golfe. Está a chegar um dos meus momentos favoritos, o Natal. A altura ideal para estar com a família, matar saudades, e quem sabe, captar mais alguém para este desporto. É com este espirito que desafiamos todos os leitores da revista GOLFE PRESS, sem dúvida um dos principais veículos de divulgação da modalidade no nosso país, a aumentar a família de golfistas.
