Alves was 3rd at the ladies’ World Championship Pitch & Putt Stroke Play, organized by the International P&P Association over four days at the La Robinie Golf & Resort, in Busto Arsizio, in Lombardy, with two Portuguese in the top -10 of the general score (mixed). Francisca Alves, 17 years old, had her best result ever in her short golf career, summing 233 strokes, 17 over par, after rounds of 59, 65, 53 and 56, which got her the 50th place amongst 114 players. The best Portuguese was Hugo Espirito Santo, 36 years old, number one in the Portuguese National P&P for the last seven seasons, who was sixth, tied with Italian Leonardo Panza, with 212, 4 under par, with scores of 53, 56, 53, 50. Ricardo Paredes was the second Portuguese placed in the top -10, in ninth, with 214 (52+55+54+53), -2. The new World Champion is Dutchman Rolf Kwant, with 202 strokes, 14 under par (51+51+53+47). Of the seven Portuguese who went to Italy, there was just one who didn’t make the cut of the top -72 at the end of the first three rounds, and even then Daniel Oliveira finished within the big group at72nd, being let down by the tie breaking rules.

Francisca Alves foi 3ª classificada no torneio feminino do Campeonato do Mundo individual de Pitch & Putt (P&P) na modalidade de stroke play, que a Associação Internacional de P&P organizou durante quatro dias no Le Robinie Golf & Resort, em Busto Arsizio, na Lombardia, onde dois portugueses terminaram no top-10 da classificação geral (mista). Francisca Alves, de 17 anos, alcançou a melhor classificação da sua muito curta carreira de golfista, ao somar 233 pancadas, 17 acima do Par, após voltas de 59, 65, 53 e 56, que na classificação geral mista valeu-lhe o 50º lugar, entre 114 participantes. O melhor português foi Hugo Espírito Santo, de 36 anos, o nº1 do Ranking Nacional de P&P nas últimas sete temporadas, que foi 6º classificado, empatado com o italiano Leonardo Panza, com 212, 4 abaixo do Par, tendo entregado cartões de 53, 56, 53, 50. Ricardo Paredes foi o segundo português a conseguir terminar no top-10, na 9ª posição, com 214 (52+55+54+53),-2. O novo campeão mundial é o holandês Rolf Kwant, que somou 202 pancadas, 14 abaixo do Par, com voltas de 51, 51, 53 e 47. Dos sete portugueses que se deslocaram a Itália, só um não passou o cut do top-72 no final de três voltas e mesmo assim Daniel Oliveira terminou no extenso grupo dos 72º classificados, mas o sistema de desempate desfavoreceu-o.
