Portuguese victory at the skyhawk invitational

Portuguese Francisco Oliveira won his fourth individual title in tournaments on the American niversity circuit, and is placing himself as probably the best player at Point University, in Georgia. The twenty year old Algarve player is in his junior year. he won the Skyhawk Invitational (the “home” tournament) for the second time in three years, and also won the team trophy. In teams, the Skyhawks of Point University summed 599 strokes, 21 over par (301+298), leaving Reinhart University in second (+26). Portuguese João Pinto Basto, who’s completing his sophomore year, contributed for his team’s result, as he was 19th (tied) in individual results, totalling 154 strokes. Amongst the 92 players there was one more Portuguese player with good results, João Magalhães, in the group tied 22nd, with 155 (79+76), +11, even though in his case his individual results weren’t used for the team score.

O algarvio de 20 anos, que está na sua época de “Junior”, venceu pela segunda vez em três anos o Skyhawk Invitational, ou seja, o torneio da casa, fazendo a “dobradinha”, uma vez que a sua equipa também ganhou o troféu coletivo. Na classificação por equipas, os Skyhawks da Point University somaram 599 pancadas, 21 acima do Par (301+298), deixando em 2º a Reinhardt University (+26). O português João Pinto Basto, que já está na sua época de “Sophomore”, contribuiu para o triunfo da equipa com um 19º lugar empatado na classificação individual, ao totalizar 154 (76+78), +10. Entre 92 participantes, houve mais um português bem classificado, João Magalhães, no grupo dos 22º classificados, com 155 (79+76), +11, embora no seu caso os seus resultados individuais não tenham sido contabilizados na classificação coletiva.
