Iberian “duel” at Mondariz
The usual yearly match between the Portuguese and Galician seniors started at the demanding Golf Balneario de Mondariz course, with the first round gathering eighty players from both countries. The first day was played to fourball betterball rules, the second to singles’. On the first day the Portuguese were in the lead, five points ahead (109/104), but on the second day the Spanish improved (190/198), and finally won the match by three points (302/299). The second round of this Iberian match will take place on November 16th and 17th at a course still to be determined in the Algarve.
O habitual “match” anual entre os Seniores da Galiza e de Portugal começou no exigente percurso do Golf Balneario de Mondariz, com a primeira volta a reunir 80 jogadores dos dois países. No primeiro dia em fourball betterball e no segundo em singulares. No primeiro dia os portugueses lideravam com cinco pontos de vantagem (109-104), mas no segundo dia os Seniores espanhóis melhoraram (190-198) e ganharam o match por 302299 pontos. A segunda volta deste match Ibérico realiza-se a 16 e 17 de novembro em campo a designar no Algarve.
