European Championship
The second edition of the International Senior Belem Tower was a success, gathering the maximum number of players permitted by the regulations (72) from the whole country, and teams representing Portugal, France, Italy, Denmark, Brazil, UK and Belgium. The tournament, organized by the Associação Nacional de Seniores de Golfe (ANSG), took place at the Lisbon Sports Club and Belas Clube de Campo courses. The Gross winners were a foresome made up of two pairs of brothers, Carlos Valente/José Valente/Carlos Guerreiro/António Guerreiro, who renewed the title, followed by Jose Candido de Oliveira/Manuel Candido de Oliveira/Manuel Broa/Mateus Marques. The Net winners was the foresome made up of Jean le Bellec/P Guerault/J Daniel/P Galliere, representing France, followed by the Portuguese team of Carlos Tinoco/Albino Timóteo/Gregório Cabo/Mário Oliveira. Prizes were awarded during a gala dinner in a Lisbon hotel presided by António Rebelo, President of the ANSG, who promised an even greater tournament next year.
Asegunda edição do International Senior Belem Tower foi um sucesso, ao reunir o máximo de jogadores (72), participantes de todo o País e equipas representando Portugal, França, Itália, Dinamarca, Brasil, Inglaterra e Bélgica. O torneio, organizado pela Associação Nacional de Seniores de Golfe, decorreu nos percursos do Lisbon Sports Club e Belas Clube de Campo. Em gross ganhou a equipa constituída por duas duplas de irmãos, Carlos Valente/José Valente e Carlos Guerreiro/António Guerreiro, que renovou o título, seguidos de José Cândido de Oliveira/Manuel Cândido de Oliveira e Manuel Brôa/Mateus Marques. Em net venceu a equipa Jean Le Bellec/P. Guerault e J. Daniel/P. Galliere, que representou a França, seguida da equipa portuguesa constituída por Carlos Tinoco/Albino Timóteo e Gregório Cabo/Mário Oliveira. Os prémios foram entregues durante o jantar de gala num hotel de Lisboa, a que presidiu António Rebelo, presidente da ANSG, que prometeu um torneio ainda maior no próximo ano.
