CHARITABLE TOURNAMENT

May 28th was the date chosen by the Architects Golf Club (CGA) for its 4th tournament of the Order of Merit, which was also a charitable one. By backing the Rotary Club of Lisbon North, the CGA supported the following institutions: ACREDITAR (Association of Parents and Friends of C hildren with cancer, APADP (Association de Parents and Friends of the Profoundly Deficient(seriously handicapped), FPDA ( Portuguese Federation of Autism, and END POLIO NOW, the Rotary International mission to end poliomyelitis (malaria) in the world. Besides the members and guests of the CGA, the Beloura members also associated themselves to the cause. The morning, although very cloudy, didn’t negate the enthusiasm of the different teams, who took delight in a very special on course bar sponsored by AEG and embodied by chef Fábio Bernardino, a very talented young man, during the change from the back nine to the front nine, or vice versa . The end of the game was accompanied by various delicacies and the always tasty Illy coffee.

Odia 28 de maio foi a data escolhido pelo Clube de Golf dos Arquitectos para efectuar o seu 4º torneio da Ordem de Mérito, que foi simultaneamente de Solidariedade. Ao apoiar o Rotary Club de Lisboa Norte, o CGA apoiou as seguintes instituições: ACREDITAR – Associação de Pais e Amigos de Crianças com Cancro, APADP – Associação de Pais e Amigos dos Deficientes Profundos, FPDA – Federação Portuguesa de Autismo e END POLIO NOW missão do Rotary Internacional de apoio ao fim da Poliomielite (Malária) no mundo. Para além dos sócios e convidados do CGA também os associados da Beloura se juntaram à causa. A manhã embora bastante nublada não retirou entusiasmo às diferentes formações que aproveitaram da melhor forma as mudanças dos “back nine” para os “front nine” ou vice-versa tendo-se deleitado com um bar de campo muito especial, patrocinado pela AEG e proporcionado pelo Chef Fábio Bernardino jovem de imenso talento e humor. O final da partida foi regado e acompanhado com as mais diversas iguarias e o sempre saboroso café Illy.

At the same time there was also a golf atelier, coordinated by professor Portas de Figueiredo, and that this time beat all participation records. To close the event there was, on the following Wednesday (May 31st) the prize awarding dinner and the raffle, at the Lisbon Intercontinental Hotel. The opening of the dinner included a performance of Arquitectuna, the choir group of the architecture faculty of the University of Lisbon, with a handful of songs, and closing Nicole Eitner surprised with some themes of its authorship in the area of jazz, closing with his version of “amor a dois”. Paralelamente teve lugar o Atelier de Golfe, orientado pelo professor Portas de Figueiredo e que desta vez bateu todos os recordes em número de participantes. Para fecher o acontecimento, na quarta feira seguinte (dia 31 de Maio) decorreu no Hotel Intercontinental de Lisboa o jantar de entrega de prémios e a respectiva tômbola. A abrir o jantar a Arquitectuna, tuna da Faculdade de Arquitectura da Universidade de Lisboa, brindou os presentes com uma mão cheia de cantorias e boa disposição. A fechar Nicole Eitner surpreendeu com alguns temas de sua autoria da área do Jazz e rematou com a sua versão do “amor a 2”.
