The luxurious course of Estela, in Povoa do Varzim, received the fourth stage of the 4th Abreu Golfe circuit, in an event that took place last July 1st. With the Atlantic as a background, the 94 players had the opportunity of enjoying a clearly well maintained course, offering exceptional conditions to players. The Estela Golf Course is spread over almost 6300 metres (7000 yards), with a par of 72, a course rating of 72,7 and a slope rating of 131. The stage started early, with the shotgun taking place at 09h00, on a sunny day cheered by a refreshing Atlantic breeze. But during the morning stronger winds rose, which increased the difficulty of the game. The demands generated by this added difficulty meant a great challenge that catapulted the game to much higher technical level. After five hours of playing, there was a convivial lunch at the clubhouse, with the awarding of prizes to the stage winners, and a raffle of gifts generously given by the partner brands that sponsored the circuit. First gross went to the pair Mário Coelho/Paulo Oliveira (33 points). Maria Manuela Miranda/Yvonne Telles (42) won net. Second place (net) went to the pair Rui Gonçalves/Abilio Ramos (40). It is worth stressing that for the very first time in the Abreu Golfe Circuit, a ladies’ team won the net prize. The next four stages are to take place between September 23rd and December 3rd in Vidago, Madeira and Cascais, with the final taking place in Andalucia (Spain). The Abreu Golf Circuit has a social facet, with 10 percent of the proceeds going to charity, in this case IPO Porto.

Oluxuoso campo de Golf da Estela, na Póvoa do Varzim, recebeu a quarta etapa do IV Circuito de Golfe Abreu no passado dia 1 de julho. Tendo como pano de fundo o Oceano Atlântico, os 94 participantes tiveram oportunidade de disfrutar de um campo visivelmente bem cuidado, oferecendo condições de exceção aos praticantes! O campo de Golf da Estela estende-se por quase 6.300 metros (7.000 jardas), com um par de 72, um Course Rating de 72,7 e um Slope Rating de 131. A etapa começou cedo, com o shotgun a ocorrer pelas 9.00h num dia soalheiro brindado pela refrescante brisa do Atlântico. Porém, a meio da etapa, fortes ventos se foram desencadeando, o que elevou o patamar de dificuldade da mesma. As exigências que esta adversidade gerou, representaram um grande desafio que catapultou a prova para um nível técnico muito superior! Após as cinco horas em que decorreu o Match, seguiuse um convívio no clubhouse, onde foram entregues os prémios aos vencedores da etapa e sorteados os presentes gentilmente oferecidos pelas marcas parceiras que se associaram ao Circuito. A dupla Mário Coelho e Paulo Oliveira ficou em 1º lugar de pares Gross com 33 pontos. Maria Manuela Miranda e Yvonne Teles foram a dupla que arrecadou 42 pontos na categoria Par Net, ficando em 1º lugar. Já no 2º lugar Par Net foi alcançado pela dupla Rui Gonçalves e Abílio Ramos, com 40 pontos. Há que destacar que, pela primeira vez, na história do Circuito Golfe Abreu, uma equipa integralmente feminina ganhou o 1º lugar Par Net! As restantes 4 etapas decorrerão entre 23 de setembro e 3 de dezembro em Vidago, Ilha da Madeira, Cascais e a final acontecerá em Andaluzia, Espanha. O Circuito Golfe Abreu possui uma dimensão social, sendo que 10% do valor das inscrições revertem a favor do IPO Porto.
