GOLFE - - CLUB NEWS -

The Dom Pedro group, who recently acquired the five Vilamoura courses, presented the new image of the courses, now part of the Dom Pedro Hotels & Golf Collection. In Vilamoura, the Oceanico Golf became the Dom Pedro Golf, while all other courses keep their original names – Pinhal GC, Millenium GC, Victoria GC, Laguna GC, Old Course – but now with the gold symbol of the proprietor. As part of this rebranding, the Dom Pedro Golf, the oldest of the group (opened in 1975) is now the Dom Pedro Vilamoura. The launch of the rebranding was attended by some thirty journalists and European tour operators and included a tournament at the Victoria Golf Club. The Net winner was German Frank Crudo (45 points), followed by Portuguese José Valente (38). The Gross winner was Dutchman Oliver Gunning (31). The First lady was Dutchwoman Manuela Ilgun. The official ceremony, which started with a champagne cocktail at Buzios and finished with a gala dinner at the Dom Pedro Marina, was attended by various entities accompanying hosts Stefano Saviotti and Luis Correia da Silva, from the vice-president of Turismo Portugal, Filipe Silva, to the President of Turismo Algarve, Desidério Silva, as well as councilmen from Loulé and Vilamoura.
