Ricardo Melou Gouveia finished the Andalucia Valderrama Masters, hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation, on the European Tour, in 23rd, a result that guaranteed his place on the european first divison tour for the third year in a row. The Portuguese golfer shot 285 (69-70-72-74), 1 over par, at the Real Club Valderrama (Par 71) in southern Spain. Points earned by the ACP Golf player were enough to keep his circuit card for 2018, not though the Race to Dubai (in which he was 115th, with 332.033 euros in prizes), but through the Top-10 in the Access List (on which he was 9th). This is a parallel table that excludes elite tournaments (Rolex Series, World Golf Championships and majors). The last round at the Real Club Valderrama, did not go well for him. He shot three over par, falling 16 positions on Sunday (on the first three days he was always in the top 10). But more importantly, as in 2016, in his debut year on the European high-wheel, the great goal of the season has been achieved. Filipe Lima finished the season with a 30th place in Spain, and was 139th in the Race to Dubai, with € 218.629, not guaranteeing his card for next year’s Tour. The Luso-French playerhas the qualifying school, to try and secure a card for the next season. The tournament host Sergio Garcia, number 11 in the world ranking, revalidated the title in the Andalucia Valderrama Masters. The Spaniard who won the Augusta National Masters in April shot 272 (66-71-68-67), 12 under par.

Trata-se de uma tabela paralela àquela mas que exclui os torneios de elite (Rolex Series, World Golf Championships e majors). A última volta ao campo do Real Club Valderrama (Par 71), não lhe correu de feição, fez três acima do par caindo 16 posições no domingo (nos três primeiros dias esteve sempre nos 10 primeiros). Mas o mais importante é que, tal como em 2016, no seu ano de estreia na alta-roda europeia, o grande objectivo da temporada foi alcançado.
